St. Louis man accused of what victim calls random stabbing
ST. LOUIS (AP) - A 42-year-old man is accused of what a property management company's president calls the random stabbing of him in downtown St. Louis.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch said Christopher Pierce of St. Louis was charged Friday with first-degree assault and armed criminal action involving George Steffen.
Steffen tells the newspaper that he simply was saying hello to a stranger after leaving hsi condominium Thursday morning when the man police said is Pierce suddenly knocked him down and began stabbing him.
Fifty-seven-year-old Steffen was treated for stab wounds to a leg.
Online court records do not show whether Pierce has an attorney who can speak on his behalf.
