St. Louis officer injured in crash
ST. LOUIS (AP) — A St. Louis police officer is hospitalized with serious injuries after his squad car was struck by another car while on the way to an emergency.
KMOV-TV (http://bit.ly/1GGVslo ) reports that the accident happened about 3:40 a.m. Wednesday on the city's north side. The officer's name has not been released.
Police say the officer had the vehicle's lights and sirens activated when a car crashed into the squad car. Occupants of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries. It wasn't immediately clear if the driver of that car was cited.
Police say the officer's injuries are not life-threatening.
