State Senator District 6 Close Until the End
The race for State Senator District 6 was a close one until the very end. Republican candidates Mike Kehoe and Kenny Jones were close together until the last county, Morgan, came in. But ultimately Kehoe pulled in front with 39.7% of the votes.
Mike Kehoe held his campaign watch party at the American Legion Hall in Jefferson City.
Kehoe already has his plans together, "Well my next step's obviously gonna be that I want to fulfill the commitment I made to the voters. Which is we need to get jobs on track, we want to work on job creation here in Missouri, we want to get the economy moving through those jobs, want to make sure that we can have some positive conversation in the capitol and bring some fresh ideas to it."
Kenny Jones, who came in a close second, held his watch party at Braykley Hall in Center Town.
"I will still be in the service field," said Jones. "I'll still serve the public in some fashion. I won't run off and hide anywhere."
There were no democrats in this race. The State Senator District 6 seat serves Callaway, Cole, Miller, Moniteau, and Morgan counties.
