Stolen vehicle returned to owners
COLUMBIA - The Boone County Sheriff's Department pursued a stolen vehicle at 8:48 p.m. Saturday.
The vehicle that was stolen out of Columbia was located on Rangeline near Business Loop 70 when a deputy attempted to create a traffic stop. When the driver of the stolen car refused to stop, a pursuit began.
The vehicle stopped at Garth and Business Loop 70 and both the driver and passenger fled from the car on foot.
The driver of the car was able to get away and police are still looking for him, but the passenger Krystle Wilson has been taken into custody.
Wilson was arrested and processed for tampering, resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia. Wilson also had an outstanding warrant for her arrest for tampering with a motor vehicle. She was arrested and processed for this as well.
The vehicle has been returned to its rightful owner and nobody was injured during this pursuit.
