Storm Knocks Power Lines Down in Macon County
MACON COUNTY - The storms that swept through the area early Monday morning knocked down a power line onto Route O northwest of Macon. The line closed Route O from Highway OO in Bloomington to Route AX west of Axtell for much of the early Monday morning hours. The road has since reopened though.
Rte ZZ in Chariton County also has power lines across the roadway.
Missouri State Highway Patrol said there was also barn debris in the area as well. As for Columbia, the city is still about half without power. Columbia Power and Light is currently trying to restore power.
Early Monday morning the businesses just southwest of Highway 63 and Stadium Boulevard were without power, including the Hollywood Theaters. Power and Light tried looking for a fuse in that area which may have caused part of the outage in that area. Workers could not find the problem though.
