Student removed from Iberia High School after incident with knife
IBERIA - A student was removed from school after allegedly bringing a knife and displaying it in a threatening manner, school officials confirmed Wednesday.
In a letter sent to families of Iberia students, Superintendent Lyndel Whittle said high school staff responded to the incident, took the pocket knife and had the student removed from school grounds. No one was hurt.
"I can assure you we have taken steps to address this incident and will determine appropriate disciplinary action," Whittle said in the letter. He also encouraged anyone with questions to call his office.
