Students are Back with an Impact
Columbia - With classes starting in less than a week, the hustle and bustle of the school year is starting to take over Columbia yet again.
Certain streets are blocked off or divided to accomodate the extra traffic and make roads safer for everyone moving into the residential halls.
Finding parking on campus as well as downtown is already proving to be more difficult.
The University of Missouri's residence halls are so full that some freshman have to live in housing at Stephens College.
The bulk of freshman are moving into the residence halls starting tomorrow morning, so the downtown area is going to be pretty packed.
Also, department stores will see a lot of parents grabbing last minute items for their kids' rooms.
Some restaurants, especially ones close to campus, told KOMU 8 they're already seeing a surge in business.
Area hotels are seeing a positive impact.
KOMU 8 talked to several hotel managers on Tuesday who said business was booming.
