Students Speak Out Against Aspen Heights
COLUMBIA - Gro-Mizzou students will present a petition to Chancellor Deaton Friday.
The petition calls on Chancellor Deaton to speak out against the Aspen Heights development plans for upscale student housing. Current Regency Mobile Home Park families will be evicted in February. If approved, the housing would be built on that land.
In 3-days, Gro-Mizzou, gro-grass roots organizing, and Regency residents gathered more than one thousand signatures from MU. Students will meet at Speaker's Circle at 10:45 am Friday and march to Chancellor Deaton's office in Jesse Hall to present the petitions.
