Suit: Teacher dismissed after reporting sexual assault
ST. LOUIS (AP)— A former teacher at a St. Louis-area school alleges in a lawsuit that she was dismissed after reporting that another employee was sexually assaulting her teenage daughter.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the suit was filed last week in St. Louis County Circuit Court. Principia Christian Science school spokeswoman Laurel Walters didn't immediately return a phone message from The Associated Press seeking comment.
The Post-Dispatch is not naming the plaintiff because it would identify the daughter, who is the alleged crime victim. The employee says she was terminated after telecommunications department employee Zachary Retzlaff was charged with statutory rape. His trial is scheduled for June. His attorney, John Schleiffarth, didn't immediately return a phone message from the AP.
An earlier lawsuit by the daughter's parents has been dropped.
