Summer gymnastics camp at local gym adjusts to COVID-19 regulations
COLUMBIA- Tiger Academy of Gymnastics is hosting a summer camp for kids to attend, but it is going to look a little differently than originally planned.
Owner Amie Butler said she has set guidelines in place to ensure the safety of kids, parents and coaches.
"We definitely have an entrance only and an exit only. Anyone that comes through our doors, we are taking temperatures so that we know that they’re healthy," said Butler.
Butler said students used to get stamps on their hands to regulate attendance. Now, they'll get receive stickers to lessen skin-to-skin contact.
After months of less in-person contact with other people, Butler said she's learned a lot.
"This pandemic has really shown the importance of socialization for children and adults, and how important physical activity is for kids," Butler said.
