Super Bowl Means Super Cash for Businesses
"This would probably be one of our top five days of the year," said Rob Reif with HY-VEE "The Super Bowl is one of our biggest holidays right up there with Thanksgiving and Christmas."
Businesses use their own version of a playbook as they order more of big sellers.
"We have the ability to track any item in the store any week since we've been open so if we want to know how many diet coke twelve packs we sold 3 years ago for Super Bowl we can find that information out," Reif explained.
So the HY-VEE staff brings its "A" game this game day keeping store shelves stocked.
"We have people that are stocking chips non-stop, people are stocking soda non-stop. There are a handful of items that are in everybody's carts," said Reif.
Across town, sports bars like Buffalo Wild Wings say they too are ready for big crowds.
"We've had these orders flying in as early as a week ago people have been calling ahead to try and get these orders taken care of for today because everybody is going to be having big parties," said Tripp Venneman Buffalo Wild Wings.
Managers at Wild Wings says they're staffing extra people, 21 Sunday night.
Orders have been as big as 500 wings in a single order.
