Super Wedding Show comes to Mid-Missouri
COLUMBIA - More than 500 future brides filled the Holiday Inn Executive Center on Sunday to attend the Super Wedding Show.
Event manager Clare Moorehead said it was one-stop bridal planning, with venues, photographers and wedding planners there.
"Anything you could possibly need for your wedding is here,” she said.
The Wedding Show dates back to 1994, but Moorehead said it's been going on informally for more than 30 years.
The show hosted vendors such as Edith Hall Cakes, Mary Kay, Busch's Florist and Bed Bath and Beyond.
"If a bride wanted to, she could literally plan her wedding in one day." Moorehead said.
The executive center starts getting ready for the show six months in advance and plans for the typical spike in proposals during the holiday season.
Brittany Boyer and her family traveled from Moberly for the show. She's her sister-in-law's informal wedding planner and said she is excited to see what's in store.
"She just got engaged so we just want to come and find a lot of stuff that she might be able to rent or own, and just get some ideas for her wedding," Boyer said.
Boyer got married in June of 2014 and attended the September Super Wedding Show that year to help plan her own wedding.
"It's a little bit harder because we're from Moberly, so we have to do the big stuff here. But at these you can just get a lot of ideas and it's really nice," Boyer said.
