Suspect in eastern Missouri police chase captured
DE SOTO (AP) — Authorities say a man suspected of leading eastern Missouri officers on a vehicle chase after he drove into a sheriff's deputy is in custody.
The (Park Hills) Daily Journal reports the 48-year-old suspect was captured about 11 p.m. Tuesday in a trailer home not far from where he abandoned a stolen pickup truck near De Soto and ran into woods.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the chase happened earlier Tuesday when a St. Francois County deputy stopped to check on three men standing near two vehicles near Desloge.
Authorities say that's when the suspect got into one of the men's pickup truck and hit the deputy, who sustained minor leg injuries. The suspect then sped away.
There was no immediate word Wednesday about any charges.
