MEXICO (AP) — A man charged in the death of a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper is out of jail after his bond was reduced.

Twenty-one-year-old Serghei P. Comerzan was released Wednesday when his family posted $10,000 bond, 10 percent of the $100,000 bond set Wednesday by a Montgomery County judge. Comerzan had been held on $250,000 cash-only bond. He must stay at his family's home in Mexico.

The Columbia Daily Tribune reported (http://bit.ly/1njJTN2) Comerzan is charged with second-degree murder or an alternative of first-degree involuntary manslaughter, as well as several other charges.

Court records indicate Trooper James Bava died tried unsuccessfully to pull over a motorcycle going 105 mph in rural Audrain County in August. The trooper's body was found later near his burning vehicle, which had crashed.
