Suspected Meth Lab Busted Next to Police Station
WASHINGTON, Mo. (AP) -- Police in an eastern Missouri town arrested seven people suspected of making methamphetamine in a building near the police station.
Police in Washington, Mo., say they arrested three women and four men over the holiday weekend. The suspects are 18 to 30 years old and all but one is from Washington.
KSDK reports that a police officer noticed a strong chemical smell late Friday coming from a building less than a block from the police station. The smell was traced to an apartment with seven people inside.
Washington police detective Darryl Balleydier says the suspects had mixed all the ingredients for meth into a plastic bottle and the concoction was boiling on the apartment roof.
Bond was set between $25,000 and $100,000 for each suspect.
