Synthetic Drugs Found in Man Who Died in Custody
SPRINGFIELD (AP) - The Greene County medical examiner says a man who died while in police custody last summer likely died from a combination of synthetic drugs and a high body temperature. Thirty-two-year-old Joshua Nossoughi of Springfield died July 9 after he was arrested in a city park in the suburb of Battlefield. County sheriff's deputies found him wearing only his underwear and trying to break into the Battlefield City Hall. They used pepper spray and stun guns to subdue him. Nossoughi died at a hospital a few hours after his arrest. KYTV reports (http://bit.ly/uduwLe) that an autopsy found a high level of synthetic drugs in Nossoughi's system. His body temperature also was 105 degrees at the time of his death. The medical examiner says the use of stun guns did not contribute to his death.
