COLUMBIA -  While several stores have said they are not adding employees during the holiday season, Target said Thursday it will hire as it has in the past.  Target started seasonal hiring the first week of October and is still in need of employees.

Target usually hires 50 to 60 people based on what the store needs, said one store manager.  He said the goal is to finish hiring and training new employees by Thanksgiving.

The store manager did not want to give the exact number of seasonal employees hired so far, but he said Target is still in need of some extra help for the busy time of year. He said some employees will stay after the busy season, depending on the store's business.
