Technology Grant Awarded to Community Colleges
To launch these services, the department of higher education has partnered with Jefferson College, Metropolitan Community College, Mineral Area College, Moberly Area Community College, Ozarks Technical College, St. Louis Community College and Three Rivers Community College.
The funds will provide about 600 new workstations, 130 more computers in 19 new computer centers and four upgraded centers. Some of the centers will be located on campus while other will be in workforce training and education centers.
The services will also teach people computer basics like Word processing, spread sheets and how to use the internet. The goal is to provide unemployed individuals the skill set needed to apply and be successful in their career.
All labs will be completely open to the public.
