COLUMBIA - A popular downtown Columbia bar is closed after a 19-year-old woman fell from an internal stairwell Saturday afternoon.

The victim has been identified as 19 year old Kelsi Poe of Columbia.  The victim is still in critical condition at University Hospital as of just before 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. Poe's family has been notifited.

Officers received information Poe was at Quinton's Restaurant and Bar along with several friends.  Only one friend or acquaintance on-scene indicated that she witnessed the fall.  The witness was then escorted to the Columbia Police Department along with another friend, to be interviewed.  All other acquaintances, patrons, and employees advised responding officers that they did not witness the fall.

A police statement says preliminary tests showed Poe had a blood alcohol content four times the legal limit. The Columbia Fire Department confirmed Poe was transported to University Hospital shortly after 5 p.m. on Saturday with fractures to her skull, neck, and face.

The incident has been referred to the police department's Investigative Division and detectives will continue to investigate the case.
