ST. LOUIS - The St. Louis Cardinals took their third win against the Chicago Cubs Sunday for a three game series sweep.
St. Louis won the first game of the series, 2-1. Matt Carpenter secured the win for the Cardinals with an RBI single in the 10th inning.
The Cardinals offense showed up in game two, winning the game 7-4. There was hope for a high scoring game after each team recorded a home run in the 1st inning, but the Cubs couldn't keep up.
St. Louis continued its winning streak and won the final game of the series, 2-1. Adam Wainwright held the Cubs scoreless for 8 innings.
The Cardinals will play the Cincinnati Reds at home Tuesday for game one of another three game series.
