Thousands Brave the Heat for Mizzou Fan Day
COLUMBIA - The start of the college football season is less than four week away. On Sunday, thousands of Mizzou Tiger football fans braved the blistering hot weather to gather at Faurot Field for Mizzou Fan Day.
Starting quarterback James Franklin and head coach Gary Pinkel were among the popular Tigers as fans lined up for autographs and pictures. Also on hand were the Mizzou cheerleaders, Golden Girls, and Truman the Tiger himself.
Football season is rapidly approaching and the Tigers sense the excitement.
"It means a whole lot," said Missouri Senior safety Kenji Jackson, "It just goes to show the kind of fans we have here in Missouri. We work really hard to see all these people here and it helps us appreciate that. I know we love football anyways but just to see these people come out here and all these kids, it makes me want to be better as a young man and continue to be a positive role model for them."
