Three arrested, juvenile detained after stolen car found in Callaway County
CALLAWAY COUNTY - Three men and a teenager were in custody Friday night and faced felony charges after authorities found a stolen car with firearms inside.
According to a press release, the Callaway County Sheriff's Office conducted an investigation after a finding a reportedly stolen Ford F-150 in a crash outside of Auxvasse on July 24, 2018.
The car contained multiple firearms.
One person in the truck was seriously injured and another fled the scene.
18-year-old Joshua Kennemore was arrested after receiving medical care. He was held on a $10,000 bond for a first-degree felony offense of tampering with a motor vehicle.
Callaway County Sheriff's Office K9 Iro and Audrain County K9 Chal tracked and identified the fleeing subject as 23-year-old Michael Markwell.
He was being held on a $15,000 bond for felony offenses of tampering with a motor vehicle, stealing at least one firearm and unlawful use of a weapon.
The Callaway County Sheriff's Office, Audrain County Sheriff's Office and the MSHP conducted an investigative follow-up in Mexico on July 26.
On July 27, the Callaway County Sheriff's Office, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Audrain County Sheriff's Office and East Central Drug Task Force conducted a search warrant in the 500 block of North Wade Street in Mexico.
Stolen property was retrieved following the investigation.
19-year-old Jason Goff was arrested during the search warrant and was being held on a $10,000 bond for felony offenses of tampering with a motor vehicle in the first-degree and stealing at least one firearm.
A juvenile was also taken into custody during the search warrant.
No other information has been released at this time.
