Three Tigers Earn All-Big 12 Honors
COLUMBIA - Three University of Missouri soccer student-athletes earned postseason honors, as announced by the Big 12 Conference on Monday. Sophomore Alyssa Diggs was named to the All-Big 12 first team, sophomore Dominique Richardson earned a spot on the second team and freshman Kaysie Clark was a unanimous selection to the Big 12 All-Newcomer Team.
Diggs, a native of Coppell, Texas, ranked second on the Tigers this season with 12 points on four goals and four assists while starting 16 games at forward during her sophomore campaign. She posted a .607 shot on goal percentage and notched the game-winner in Mizzou's 2-0 win over TCU on Sept. 4. In her career, Diggs has compiled 19 points on six goals and seven assists.
Richardson earned her second team accolades after a strong sophomore season where she started all 19 games at midfield and scored five goals for 10 total points. The Fullerton, Calif., native notched three game-winning goals for the Tigers in 2011, including against then-No.7 Ohio State on Aug. 26. She has started all 38 games in her career and has eight goals and three assists for 19 points.
A native of Liberty, Mo., Clark was a unanimous Big 12 All-Newcomer Team honoree after starting all 19 games at midfield and recording nine points on two goals and a team high five assists. Against No. 17 Texas A&M on Sept. 30, Clark notched the game-winner on her first collegiate goal. The freshman finished the regular season strong as all nine of her points came in Mizzou's final seven games.
Diggs, Richardson, Clark and the rest of the Tigers open Big 12 Championship play on Wednesday, Nov. 2 against Baylor at 2 p.m.
