Thursday COVID-19 Coverage: Cedarhurst of Columbia confirms resident tests positive

10:20 p.m.: Cedarhurst of Columbia confirms resident tests positive

A positive case has been confirmed at Cedarhurst of Columbia assisted living center, according to a release from Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services.

In a statement from assisted living center, the resident was tested by a licensed nurse at Cedarhurst after having a low fever.

According to the release Cedarhurst of Columbia is planning to test all residents and staff.

5:00 p.m.: Callaway County and Boone County COVID-19 number updates

The Callaway County Health Department has not received any new positive COVID-19 cases as of this time. The number of COVID-19 cases currently stands at 19.

There are 14 recovered cases, four active cases and one death. 

The City of Columbia announced there are no new positive cases of COVID-19 in Boone County. There are currently 72 confirmed cases with 63 cases being recovered. 

There are eight active cases and one death. 

The cases in Boone County are detailed as follows. 

Ages:
15-24: 17 cases
25-44: 29 cases
45-64: 23 cases
65+: 3 cases

Transmission:
Travel-related: 27 cases
Contact to a confirmed case: 23 cases
Community transmission: 22 cases

3:00 p.m. Governor Parson updates statewide numbers 

According to a press conference given by Governor Mike Parson, there are 3,539 positive cases of COVID-19 as of 2 p.m., Thursday, April 9. 

There are also 77 deaths as a result of COVID-19. 

Parson also said over 30,000 people in the state have been tested for COVID-19.

1:30 p.m.: Moberly Regional Medical Center offering drive-thru testing

According to a Moberly Monitor-Index Facebook post, those exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 will be able to use the drive-thru testing location.

Residents also can call 660-263-9095 for an assessment if they do not have a primary care provider. 

Testing is available 1-3 p.m. Monday through Friday at the hospital.
