The three and three Tigers are in the middle of an eight day gap between games due to the players' finals week. Players say it is important to keep practicing hard during this stretch.
"With basketball, you have a lot of games in a short period of time. And we have like a week and a day off of playing games and that's kind of frustrating," junior guard Marcus Watkins said.
"You know, the last time we had a week off between games we had a good week of practice. You know, coach gave us a lot of things to improve on, and I thought we got better," junior guard Thomas Gardner said.
The last 4 seasons, Quin Snyder's Tigers are just 2 and 2 following finals week. Sunday, they play Furman and are looking to change the trend.
"You see them on TV enough that you forget that they are students and they don't get enough feedback on that component of their lives," said Coach Quin Snyder. "Frankly, I kicked a couple of them out yesterday because I didn't think they were working hard enough and sent them back to study."
And studying they will, take Jimmy McKinney for example.
"It's been tough for me," McKinney said. "I had a final in black religion that was really tough for me, and I got a final coming up that's going to be tough for me too. So, I just got to make sure I buckle down and be prepared. And also to make sure I stay focused on the basketball court."
The Tigers will have Thursday to study for finals and then hit to the court to study Furman. Last year, the Tigers beat Indiana coming off of finals week and are looking to do the same with Furman. The game is on Sunday at two.
