Tigers net second win in defeat of Oral Roberts
COLUMBIA - The Missouri Tigers added on to their season win total after defeating the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles 78-64 on Wednesday night. The Tiger offense was impressive, shooting over 50% from the field and 57% from behind the three-point line.
Montaque Gill-Ceasar led the scoring for the Tigers with 19 points, 12 of which were from behind the three-point line. Wes Clark was the second highest scorer with 14 points.
Defensively, Mizzou held the Golden Eagles to only 40% shooting from the field. The team also tallied up 23 defensive rebounds, 7 steals and 3 blocks.
Golden Eagles guard Obi Emegano accounted for 30 of the teams 64 points.
Mizzou struggled against the Golden Eagles in the first half. Their only lead in the half came after Johnathan Williams III netted two free-throws in the first minute to put the Tigers up 2-0. After that, Oral Roberts took the lead into the half.
The Missouri Tigers will play their next game in Maui, Hawaii, against the No. 2 Arizona Wildcats on Monday at 4 p.m. CT on ESPN2.
