Gas Is Going Up
Fill up on your way to work because gas prices are likely to go up before they go down. The continued increase is because oil prices are on rise again. The weekly energy department report is due out on Wednesday. The government accountability office said the spike in gas prices across the U.S. has cost Americans $20 billion. It will show the third increase in domestic gas stocks in three weeks.
AAA says the national average for unleaded gasoline set a new record, $3.22 a gallon. The future is not looking better as July's light, sweet crude is up 30 cents.
Bush Delivers Commencement Speech
President Bush will travel to a small east coast town, not for campaigning or a fundraiser, but to address graduating students. The president will deliver the commencement address to seniors at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.
U.S. Military Investigates Body
The U.S. military says it's looking into a report that the Iraqi military found the body of a man wearing what appeared to be a U.S. military uniform. A senior Iraqi army official says someone found the man floating in the Euphrates River south of Baghdad. A report from Iraq indicates it is the body of an American soldier. This comes on the heels of three missing U.S. soldiers abducted early last week.
American Idol Finale
American Idol will announce the winner of its sixth season Wednesday night. Tuesday night voters chose between the uniquely styled, beat-boxing, Blake Lewis and the energetic 17-year old, Jordin Sparks. Last season, the two finalists, Taylor Hicks and Katherine McPhee, received more than 63 million votes combined.
