COLUMBIA -More than a dozen emergency vehicles were parked in front of Target at the Columbia Mall on Wednesday, but it was all for a good time as part of the annual Tons of Trucks event.

Columbia Parks and Recreation hosted the event, which was co-sponsored by the Columbia Mall and NASH-FM.

Ambulances, fire trucks, tractors, and other vehicles filled the parking lot, flashing their lights and blaring their horns.

Kids were able to climb in and around the trucks and play with all the buttons and levers. One little boy even got to strap his brother onto a gurney in an ambulance.

Molly Cover of Columbia said she and her sons have come to the event the last three years. She said the event is fun for her family, and she loves seeing her sons playing on the trucks.

“For our boys, we just love trucks, so it’s just a big highlight for them,” Cover said.
