Tossing the Hulls
For a small town, it's a big event.
"We don't have everything going on like they do in Columbia and Mexico and Fulton. But whatever our event is we have them year after year after year."
And this tradition keeps going strong.
"Well the guys come and loaf and eat peanuts and play cards," said Hetha Eastin also of the senior center.
2007 marks the 47th year of loafers week.
"I remember the first one and I didn't get to go to it because I was in school," said Donal Knipp, Lion's club member.
Most agree that the food is great, but the company is the best.
"It's kind of a week-long reunion. There were people here today that I haven't seen for a year and these were people I grew up with, and we just have a ball," Knipp said.
The money raised supports organizations in the community. This year's Loafer's Week continues through Feb. 24.
