Tow Companies Picking up Abandoned Cars
COLUMBIA - Tow companies across mid-Missouri picked up abandoned cars Friday. The Columbia Police Department and the Missouri Highway Patrol started making calls to towing companies Friday morning to start clearing the road for snow plows.
"Last night we weren't making calls for tows," said Columbia Police Department Sergeant Joe Bernhard. "This morning we started making calls for the main roads so the plows could get through."
Tiger Towing in Columbia said it had picked up at least 20-30 cars Friday and are continuing to get calls for tows. The Columbia Police Department said the wait time for any tow company in Columbia is at least 2 hours.
