Traffic stop leads to multiple arrests
COLUMBIA - Police arrested two Columbia residents Wednesday on 11 charges total including potential weapon and drug charges.
The Columbia Police Department stopped 30-year-old Troy Lewis near Providence and Green Meadows Road early Wednesday morning. Police said they found marijuana, meth, firearms, a scale, and other drug-related items in the car.
Police were able to get a warrant to search Lewis's home. At his home, police said they spoke with resident Andrea K. Middleton, 23, and a 4-year-old child.
While searching his home, CPD officers found five stolen guns, marijuana, a baggie of meth in Middleton's purse, an electronic scale, empty baggies, and other drug-related items.
Officers also said they learned two children, ages nine and four, lived at the home where drug-related items and a gun were within their reach.
CPD arrested Middleton after the search Wednesday afternoon on two different possible charges including child endangerment and drug-related offenses. Lewis is a previously convicted felon. He was arrested on nine possible charges including drug-and-weapon-related offenses and child endangerment.
