Traffic Stop Near Hickman High School Leads to Arrests
COLUMBIA - Three subjects were detained shortly before noon today after an off-duty Columbia police officer made a traffic stop that led to an arrest. There is no further information at this time about the arrests as the investigation is still ongoing.
The officer was working at Hickman High School when he witnessed the vehicle fail to signal and performed a traffic stop. The vehicle stopped at the McDonald's back parking lot at 205 E. Business Loop 70, where the subjects were detained and the vehicle was towed from the lot.
The Columbia Police Department asked the Columbia Public Schools not to allow students off the west side of campus due to the investigation. No one was injured in the incident, and as more details become available they will be released.
