Truck Chapel Open for Prayer
In a corner of the Kingdom City truck stop, there's a converted tractor-trailer that's a chapel for truckers to gather in a non-denominational congregation. It seats about 18 people, but chaplain Bob Holt said it's never too full, even on its busiest day, Sunday.
"I feel like we meet the need of a lot of truckers throughout the year, you know," he said.
There are 26 other chapels like Holt's in his organization, and there are 67 ministries like his in the U.S. Thursday was the 7th Annual National Day of Prayer for Truckers, and Holt was at the Kingdom City exit to celebrate. His goal is to open the chapel 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Now, his chapel is open every day at 7 p.m.
