Two Armed Robberies
One of the suspects struck a victim in the head with a handgun; the victim received minor injuries. Two other victims were physically assaulted. An undisclosed amount of currency was stolen.
The suspects, who fled on foot, are reported to range in age from late teens to early twenties, are both around 5'9'' and weigh 150 lbs.
The Police Department is still investigating.
Another armed robbery occurred Sunday, this time at a convenience store. At 11:08 AM, officers were dispatched to the I-70 Eagle Stop Service at 1704 N. Providence. According to the two clerks working at the store, a black male entered, went behind the counter and demanded money.
When the male clerk confronted the suspect, he was struck over the head with a handgun. The suspect continued removing money from the cash register and was again confronted by the same clerk. This time, the suspect struck the clerk numerous times over the head and demanded more money.
The female clerk was told to move, and struck over the head also. The suspect then exited the store, fleeing north.
Both clerks were treated at a local hospital for head injuries, then released.
The suspect was described as a short black male with a stocky build and facial hair down his cheekbone. He has a goatee and possibly a tattoo on his neck.
The incident is still under investigation, and anyone with information on either incident is requested to call CRIME STOPPERS. There is a $1,500 reward if given information leads to an arrest.
