JEFFERSON CITY - Police arrested two men following separate chases in the city overnight Tuesday into Wednesday.
The first incident happened just after 11 p.m. Tuesday when an officer tried to make a traffic stop in the area of Missouri Boulevard and Dix Road. The driver didn't stop, leading to a chase onto Highway 50.
The chase ended on East Elm, and police arrested Tyrone Amos, 39, on suspicion of driving while suspended, resisting arrest, marijuana possession, and careless driving.
The second chase happened at around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday when an officer tried to stop a suspect acting suspiciously near the old St. Mary's hospital. The suspect drove off and led police on a chase before he crashed into a wall at Bolivar and Water Streets.
According to police, the suspect then ran away toward some railroad tracks, but was caught. Officers identified the man as Darin Barnes, 33, and said he had a probation and parole violation warrant out of Boone County for narcotics distribution. He was arrested for resisting arrest and careless driving.
