Two men charged with beating victim unconscious
MARCELINE - The Macon County Prosecutor's Office charged two men with assault after they allegedly kicked and punched a third man until he lost consciousness.
Deputies arrested Reed Rosenbaum, 19, and Randall Fisher, 20, in February. Authorities said the attack happened at the Mussel Fork Conservation Area.
According to court documents, the victim was with several other people when Rosenbaum and Fisher showed up. The victim told deputies he had been told earlier Fisher was looking for him and wanted to hurt him, and remembered the suspects beating him before he lost consciousness.
At Pershing Hospital in Brookfield, doctors said the victim had a brain hemorrhage, as well as bruises, scrapes, and broken blood vessels in one eye.
Two days later, the victim went to a hospital in Macon before being transferred to a Columbia hospital for treatment of the brain hemorrhage.
Deputies said both Fisher and Rosenbaum had marks on their hands consistent with being in a fight.
