Two More Arrested in SE Mo. Counterfeit Ring
CAPE GIRARDEAU (AP) -- Two more suspects are now in custody for their alleged role in a counterfeiting ring that struck several southeast Missouri towns.
The Southeast Missourian reports that 27-year-old Terry Hester and 28-year-old Darius Lankford were both arrested in Alabama and are being held in the Madison County, Ala., jail. It wasn't immediately clear if either man had an attorney.
Both are scheduled to appear in Cape Girardeau, Mo., on federal counterfeiting charges on Feb. 29.
Authorities say the men are the last of five people involved in producing and using counterfeit bills at stores and restaurants in Cape Girardeau, Poplar Bluff, Dexter and Sikeston in early October.
