OSAGE COUNTY – Monday night Highway 28 in Osage County was closed directly between Belle and Bland due to a two-to-three mile long fire, according to Osage County Sheriff Michael Dixon.

Dixon said the majority of the brush along the road had been extinguished, but firefighters were still working to combat the fire.

One structure was on fire as of 9:30 p.m. and Dixon said he was uncertain if more structures could be in the line of fire.

Traffic was shut down between Belle and Bland, and traffic being diverted.
