Two women sue corrections officer, facility citing physical, emotional abuse
CHILLICOTHE - Two women are filing a lawsuit against a corrections officer at the Chillicothe Correctional Institution on the grounds of physical and emotional abuse.
Karen Backues Keil and Lynnsey Christie Betz claim Edward Bearden harassed, abused and sexually assaulted them.
The complaints filed on behalf of Keil and Betz also allege prison officials knew about the sexual assault and did nothing to prevent the attacks.
Keil also suing John Dunn, a mental health counselor at the Chillicothe Correctional Institution. Keil said she sought counseling from Dunn after the alleged abuse. She claims she told Dunn about it, and then he began to threaten, abuse and assualt her in following sessions.
Both women are being represented by the same team of lawyers.
