U.S. Open sees surprising first round cuts
HARTFORD, WI—The U.S. Open concluded Friday with some surprising first round cuts.
After the first cut, 55 players will tee off on Saturday. However, some familiar names will not be on the green Saturday.
Jason Day and Dustin Johnson both missed the first cut. Day has not missed a first round major cut since 2012 and Johnson won the U.S. Open in 2016.
Four golfers are currently tied for first. Paul Casey, Brian Harman, Tommy Fleetwood and Brooks Koepka will head into Saturday with the best standing.
The tournament has been held annually since 1895.
