UM Candidates Interviewed
There were no cameras allowed in the US Bank Plaza in St. Louis, where curators were meeting, leaving the identities of candidates up to speculation.
Representatives from Georgia search firm Baker Parker also attended the meeting. Baker parker charges a fee of $125,000. Search firm Baker Parker has helped universities around the country find coaches and deans.
UM President Search Timeline:
December of 2006 - Elson Floyd announced his departure for Washington State University.
January 2007 - The board of curators hired Georgia firm Baker Parker to help in the search for a new president.
March - Curators held public forums to gain information on what the public wanted out of a president.
April - Gordon Lamb was named as interim president.
May - Curators conducted numerous interviews.
June - New Jersey executive Terry Sutton renounced his candidacy.
