ROLLA - Steel company Nucor is giving two (m) million dollars to the University of Missouri-Rolla to further the school's research in steelmaking. The money will go to endow a chair named after the Charlotte, North Carolina-based company's late chairman, F- Kenneth Iverson. University officials plan to combine the money with state funds. Chancellor John F- Carney says Nucor has worked with Missouri-Rolla for many years. The Rolla campus was founded in 1870 as the Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy.
