COLUMBIA - The emergency room at University Hospital was under lockdown Thursday night.

A woman who was outside told KOMU 8 she could not go inside the hospital and see her step-son who just had surgery on the seventh floor.

On Friday morning, Jennifer Coffman from University Hospital Media Relations told KOMU 8 the hospital was not on lockdown but that the security in the hospital was increased. Coffman said she could not give a reason for the increased security, citing patient confidentiality regulations.
