UPDATE: Jefferson City middle school student found
JEFFERSON CITY - Police are searching for a Jefferson City middle school student who walked away from a school field trip in St. Louis on Thursday.
The student was on a class field trip to the Holocaust Museum and Learning Center in St. Louis and walked away from the group according to JCPS Assistant to the Superintendent, Amy Berendzen.
JCPS is working with the St. Louis County Police Department to locate the middle schooler.
Police interviewed students prior to their return to Jefferson City as part of the preliminary investigation. JCPS said the students will return home close to their originally-scheduled arrival time.
UPDATE: St. Louis County Police Department has confirmed the student has been located in Boone County. Police are currently en route to Jefferson City with him.
