UPDATE: New information in deadly Ralls County crash
RALLS COUNTY, Mo. - The Federal Aviation Administration was on the scene of a deadly plane crash in Ralls County July 28.
Emergency personnel found two people dead in a crashed airplane at a soybean field six miles northwest of Laddonia, Missouri.
The Missouri States Highway Patrol said Bobby Faulkner, 41, and Shannon Faulkner 41, were pronounced dead at the scene by the Ralls County Coroner Robert Van Winkle.
According to MSHP, the plane crashed shortly before 5 a.m. July 27.
Officials did not start the search for the plane until after 11 p.m. July 27. Authorities found the plane just before 1 a.m. the next morning.
The highway patrol said the aircraft had taken off from Mexico, Missouri and was traveling to Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The highway patrol believes that Bobby Faulkner was the pilot of the aircraft.
The National Transportation Safety Board was scene Saturday morning.
No records were found that the pilot obtained a weather briefing or filed a flight plan.
According to airport manager, the aircraft arrived in Mexico July 26. He said Bobby Faulkner told him that he wanted to get an early start the next morning. When the manager arrived at the airport the next morning, the plane was gone.
