COLUMBIA - Columbia police are investigating a triple shooting that left one man dead and at least two others injured early Sunday morning.

Officers were dispatched to the Break Time gas station at 2709 E. Broadway around 3 a.m. in response to an invidual entering the store with a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, the officers found the first of three gunshot victims inside of the gas station. While searching the surrounding area, police found two additional gunshot victims.

All three victims were transported to a local hospital, where Jamar Lamont Hicks, 26, was pronounced dead. The other two victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Bullet holes were found in the victims' vehicle, and the shooting was part of a traveling gun battle with at least two vehicles, according to Columbia police.

The suspect(s) of the shooting are still at large and no vehicle or motive has been identified.

The intersection of Trimble Road and Brickton Road is expected to be closed for several hours and Columbia residents should expect large delays around the area.

Columbia Police Department recommends drivers take alternate routes or avoid the area.

The investigation is currently ongoing, anyone with additional information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 875-8477.
