Veteran with COVID-19 moved to tears during discharge from Truman VA
COLUMBIA - Truman VA staff cheered on a veteran while he was wheeled out of the hospital on Monday. He was discharged after receiving treatment for COVID-19.
According to the hospital's Facebook post, U.S. Army Veteran William "Skip" Allen was moved to tears by the support of the employees.
The post included a video of the moment Allen was wheeled out of the hospital while employees clapped and cheered.
"We are thrilled 'Skip' is doing so well and we thank him for his service to our country," the post read.
There are currently 27 people in Boone County hospitals with COVID-19 as of Monday night, according to the Boone County, MO COVID-19 Information Hub.
