COLUMBIA - Missouri is one of only three states where texting and driving is still legal. Moves to change that have failed in the legislature, although at least one proposed ban is still on the House calendar.

The Columbia City Council unanimously passed a ban on distracted driving late last year. It says, if someone is ticketed for reckless driving, they will face higher fines if the officer found they were distracted at the time of the violation. Distractions include texting, eating, reading a map or even turning one’s head too far away from the road while driving. KOMU 8 News has done an in-depth examination of how the ban works.

Now we want to know what you think. Please complete the short survey below. It is completely anonymous, but you will have the opportunity to leave your contact information if you'd like to share your thoughts and experiences with one of our reporters. If you're on mobile, use this link.
