Volunteers Provide a Merry Christmas
Thursday was the big event for the Christmas Care and Share program, after months of hard work and planning.
Randolph County volunteers collected donations from the community and put together a place where families can come to get gifts for their kids. Families applied and organizers chose them based on their income.
A personal shopper goes with the family to pick out one gift for each child. Volunteers say some families wouldn't have a Christmas without their efforts. Melissa Wilson came to get gifts for her three children.
"We needed stuff for Christmas, she said. "This is a really good place. It helps people out a lot."
This is the fifth year volunteers had their Care and Share. They say donations were down from last year, but so were the number of kids in need.
