Warm Haven program opens to shelter veterans during cold weather
COLUMBIA - The Truman VA Hospital initiated a Warm Haven program to help shelter veterans overnight as community shelters are limited during evening and early morning hours.
According to the Columbia MO VA Medical Center Facebook post, this program is open to help veterans and their immediate families take shelter during these extreme cold conditions.
The Warm Haven will be open from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. the nights of Nov. 11-14.
According to the post, to access the facility, enter through the main hospital doors and use the phone to request entry.
